March 2019

Here are pictures from March.
Our cat Link was fighting too much with Fiora's cat pepper. Link is 10 years old and used to having the territory to himself. We found pepper with a 1 1/2 in gash in his belly that showed his insides and took 450 dollars to repair. We decided to put Link down, it was a sad day. I've never cried over a pet before but I was more attached to my mouse-catcher black cat than I thought.

Fiora went to prom with her friend Cade Trappet from Ogden. We practiced styling her hair and Savanna did her nails, and she bought her own prom dress. She said it was fun. She is really spending the time and gas getting to and from Odgen whenever she can to be with Cade.

Weston had a choir concert and sang a solo part of "A Wayfaring Stranger" he did excellent. We registered him for high school and he has a busy schedule, especially considering he made the decision to do one more year of gymnastics training. His shoulder is still being rested but he hopes to start regular training in a week or so.

Jared and I spent a weekend up at the Timberlakes mountain home. We went snow shoeing in the deep deep snow. Most of March was pretty routine. I took a picture of leftovers night and weston playing with the dog bc there wasn't much else to capture.

Savanna was asked to prom by her boyfriend Joey Jones. He asked in a peter pan theme and savanna dressed up like Wendy to respond to him, it was really cute. They had a fun "day date" at the butterfly biosphere and the prom night included a Senior Promenade where they highlighted each senior and Jared and I were able to come watch and Jared danced with her. It was an ideal prom night. Savanna worked very hard to find a perfect and gorgeous dress and do her hair and nails to perfection. She looked like a princess.

Our Testimony

We know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and sure! The Lord Jesus Christ directs this church through a living prophet on earth and his 12 apostles. The Book of Mormon is true and Joseph Smith was a true prophet and an instrument in restoring the gospel and bringing the Book of Mormon to the earth. We love Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ and know they love us and all people, and we have faith in the Lord's atonement and redeeming power. We live with a firm hope that we will one day see them again and be together as a family forever.

Testimony of Heidi Carpenter -
I know that Christ lives and has provided the way for us to be perfected in Him. He suffered and died for us that we may repent and be happy not only in this life, but the next. I bear testimony that Joseph Smith was the prophet called to restore those ordinances in our day. I feel overwhelmed with thankfulness and joy to know that we have the guidance of a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who receives direct revelation from God. We have twelve apostles who additionally lead and guide us exactly as Christ's twelve apostles were called in His day. I am grateful that we live in a time when His gospel has been restored so that we can live with joy now, and with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. I write these words in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Testimony of Kaylee Houser-
I would like to share my testimony of this gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it is Heavenly Father's true church here on the earth today and was restored by Joseph Smith. How grateful I am that he was such a brave 14-year-old boy and throughout his life withstood so much for all of us. I bear witness that President Thomas S. Monson is our latter-day prophet who has been called of God. I love watching general conference and getting modern revelation just for ME and my family. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, that it also contains revelation for me. I love when I open up to a verse that speaks to my heart, providing me with the comfort and peace I need. I know that families are eternal. I am so grateful for that knowledge; it makes it so much easier to lose loved ones and also to cherish the ones who are here with us. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that they know me individually, by name, and are waiting for me with outstretched arms. This is my testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Families are Forever

Jared and I were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. We know that our children are sealed to us as well. We had a baby daughter in 2007 named Lillian who was born with Down Syndrome and a severe heart defect. She lived only 7 months. It was heart breaking for us to lose her, but our faith in the gospel has sustained us because we know we will see her again and that she will be part of our family forever. How grateful we are for the plan of salvation and temples on the earth to seal families together forever.
